Hi! I’m Alice. I am a User Experience Designer with a background in medical device engineering.
Some people already knew what they wanted to be when they grow up. I sure wasn't one of them. In fact, I didn't find out what I wanted to be until four years ago. This partly led to my decision to choose Materials Engineering as my undergrad major in Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and I absolutely hated it.
This path that I took, though, earned me priceless skills, knowledge, experience, and most importantly, the most amazing people that I have met throughout my years being an engineer.
When I learn something new, it always brightens up my day. This happens everywhere: at home, with friends, at work, in class, or even when you're alone staring at your code. The brain is amazing at absorbing new information, especially the ones that you're interested in and passionate about.
Of course, there would be days that you'd be constantly pulling your hair out because of some tricky situation, but there is always a way to solve a problem. It may not happen instantly, but it will happen eventually.
I’m someone who has innate empathy towards users who express any frustration/pain when interacting with tools, machines, or processes. I enjoy solving usability issues, and I love helping people. I’m a fast learner with strong perseverance.
